What is the Pantry?
Summer Holidays can be a challenging time for families, especially for those who usually get free school meals. Can you help by donating £10 to feed a child lunches for a week or £50 to feed a family for 5 days?
Winchester Community Food Pantry enables members to “get more for less”. The pantry aims to help and encourage families that need a little bit of support to manage and budget through these tough times. Anyone is welcome to shop at the pantry once a week - there are no criteria for becoming a member.
What will you find in our Pantry?
You will find a range of fresh, frozen and general foods. The items available will change on a daily basis, based on what we receive from our suppliers.
How to purchase Pantry goods?
You pay £6 per shop, receiving goods worth approximately £15 (limited to one shop per week).
What do i get for my £6?
The shelves in the pantry are labelled with red and blue markers. For your £6, you can choose:
10 red items
2 blue items

More information
The pantry initiative is designed to support people with food deprivation, helping them to escape or move on from their current emergency with a ‘helping hand’ approach.
Every day there is a meal deal available.
If you’d like one-to-one support during your shop, or would like some ideas about recipes and meals you could cook using ingredients from the pantry, please ask one of the pantry assistants and they’ll be happy to help.
